Got some answers from Shawn on some of the questions asked ...
  • Db limit is 103 / 4 - (to be confirmed tomorrow).
  • The event is at Sculthorpe. It does not have anything to do with Prova.
  • Customers can take their cars on the rally track if they want to @ £5 per run, or they can use Shawn Taylor's cars @ £20 per run. Prize of £100 for the best time in one of Shawn's cars (this is to make it a fair fight).
  • Two race instructors available free of charge.
  • MG cars (MGFs) can be hired at £295 per day plus damage deposit of £500.
  • Additional drivers cost £35 including food. Non-driving guests £20 for food.
  • Manufacturers interested in the event = Mitsubishi, Subaru, Porsche, Ferrari (:shock , MG, Corvette
  • The site will be cleaned of stones as far as possible, but the organisers cannoit guarantee no stone chip damage to vehicles. (Should be less than a gravel trap at a circuit, though!!!). Duck tape is suggested to protect lights, etc.
  • STR will be using the same caterer as for their corporate events. Final menu to be confirmed, but it is quite substantial.
Only other note is that this is a first come first served event and advance booking only - STR has a cut off date.

Anybody interested, then? There is a gang of local Scoobs interested in a scrap, I am told

Mick any conformation on the noise limit? 100db
This could be important if it is enforced. Some guys have been turned away at trackdays where they were to loud

Cheers Liam

Hi Liam ...

Looks like it is 103 or 104 db, but will chase for confirmation of this.

How loud is the Blitz?

Some Blitz are running 105 and the baffle doesnt seem to help much track side?

One guy @ Duxford a few weeks ago had suffered this on track recently.

Have just been told that this won't be an issue, mate.

Blitz exhausts won't be a problem

Hi chaps ... date of this event has now changed to Sunday 27th November ... please could one of the mods change the thread title?

There is now a bit of a twist on this day ... three areas of the airfield are available to be set up for "by popular demand" activities.

ST Racing will be taking suggestions as to how these areas should be configured (e.g. top speed run, quarter mile, 0-60). Anybody want to chip in from here?

This was kicked into touch owing to lack of interest, blacky. Shame really, it would have been good.

Shawn does do the odd oversteer/understeer course ... am going on one of these at the end of February. Give him a shout if you are interested in that. I'll post up some pictures/video after the day to show what it was like, anyway
