Attention EARLY EVO owners!!! Sprint day

Putting the feelers out for this one and really hoping for a good response due to the amount of early evo's on here now.

The first early evo meet of its kind in 2007 :muhaha: Will be held as a sprint day but as a meet at the same time. For people that just want to attend it as a meet then thats fine and you can still watch the sprint action etc but for those who want a bit more then there will be timed sprints the same as whats held at haynes. The venue is not definate yet but if this goes well then might do another one at a different venue later in 2007.
This will be an event purley for the early evo's 1-3 but obviously later evo owners may come along but might not be able to park in the same area as the meet and sprint cars. You will need to be a fully paid up evo net member to enable you to get your name down for the sprint but non paid up members can still attend the meet.
Timing equipment is a bit of a grey area at the moment but if it comes to it i will purchase some anyway.
The sprint will be on a first come first served basis and will proberbly be about 35 cars max (hopefully) Dont start getting your names down for this yet as i need to do alot of sorting out so we can get dates and place etc etc. just want to see how much interest we can get for this :-)

If we have the car back and running we will come and spectate.

Neither of us two are really into sprints. Just a damn good drive on some forgotten b roads.

Hi Ben, i'd be up for this. Any idea on a venue? If not i maybe could see if could get to the right people in my motor club for venues.

I know where you're coming from mate. TBH Haynes and most of the other venues the other club use for "sprints" i dont find enjoyable at all. They are usually just a matter of pointing a squirting, on and off the throttle through a tiny kart-type track or through some cones. Ive started competing on MSA sprints this year which use race circuits and large portions of airfields. Alot of corners you are taking at 80-100mph rather than 30-40 and with some of the approaches at 120-130. Much more enjoyable IMHO 8)

Having said that, Im not against having a bit of a laugh on a tiny circuit especially if it involves having a chin-wag with some fellow E1-3 owners

OK Ben i will start by sending out a few emails. Bear in mind that if they come up trumps with a venue it will probably be in the South West or possibly Wales. Bear in mind though it may not be too easy to get a result but i will see what can be done. Failing getting a venue sorted just for this, how about a block booking on a track/airfield day?
