Det/pinking

Ever wondered whats meant by pinking?
Basically its referred to as detonation, meaning the fuel and air(mixture)that is inside the cylinders ready to be burt via the spark plug(timed) is actually igniting on its own(un-timed)from hot-spots in the cylinder.
This can be caused by numerous things like wrong grade of spark plug, wrong grade of fuel, weak air/fuel ratio, high compression etc etc

Heres a picture of what it does to the engine in a mild form

Neil its down to what fuel is available over in Japan from what i know, there octane is higher from the pump than our highest pump fuel so the timing and fuel maps run for higher octane fuels meaning they just det with our 98ron fuel
A colder set of plugs would help

aaaah right got ya.so your best bet to avoid it is to use the highest ron and the coolest plug you can get away with.

Yes that would be the ideal way but i still wouldn't want to run large amounts of boost even with that set up
