As you may, or may not, be aware.... I am also a member of the Proton Owners Club as I also own a Proton Coupe (stifle your laughter guys)..... Anyway... some of us local lads regularly go to Elvington and do a trackday.... just for the hell of it.... If your thinking "why would I want to go to a trackday with a load of protons?"..... well you would be surprised.... one of our group is the proud owner of an evo 8.... and believe me when I say that it is a helluva car .... and he can handle it like a pro... during our time at Elvington he has been taking tuition from one of the instructors there... and his progress is fantastic.... he has modified his car, to the point of almost supersonic.... and is always happy to take passengers on trackdays.... Therefore, I would like to throw open a welcome to any of the members on this forum who would like to join us for a good lads day out (not forgetting the ladies of course who are always warmly welcomed and some even give us a good run for our money).... please come along to Elvington on the 21st April and join us for some fun.... we would welcome the chance to make some new friends who share our enthusiasm for fast cars, modifying and driving to the max..... Remember.... the Proton may be the poor relation to the Mitsubishi evo... but it shares its genes and does NOT in any way embarrass itself or the brand when up against the best.... come along and see for yourself... seing is believing.... Anthony (Weeble - Proton Owners Club) will be only too glad to prove that fact...).. He has just turbo'd his coupe with a GSR turbo, so essentially it is a 1800 GSR.... Please come along if you can (or if you like)... all welcome....
I love my EVO like i've never loved anything before... (including the wife ... ha ha ).... but my Proton is still my princess!
