Peacock @ Chesterfield ( sun 29th oct 06 @ 1pm )

To be held on the 29th of October

Don't know who came before but this was held once in 2005, over 30 cars turned up and it was a great day, although I had to get back to the hospital to see claire at the time.

Now under new ownership the peacock has become a lot better! All their food is now cooked fresh and after sampling some on sunday I can say it's fantastic!

The new owner a Mr Richard Morgan is an ex rally driver and has kindly agreed to host a meet there as and when we see fit, possibly one big one a month and a few in between if we like. He will make available all four acres of grass land if need be as well as the car park.

Booking food in advance is essential for eating in the restaurant but I believe bar snacks will be available too.

There are the usual sunday patrons but I reckon the car park could hold 20+ cars easy.

Other car meets are held here such as vintage and classic but I will make sure with Richard we don't clash, unless they dont mind us being there at the same time lol!

Just gauging interest to see what you all think, dates will be arranged as not to clash with other events/trackdays if possible, or, set to be a certain sunday each month.

Let me know what you think guys.

Jon

Bit of info

The Peacock Inn

School Hill, Cutthorpe,
Chesterfield,
Derbyshire
S42 7AS

Tel/Fax: 01246 232834

Directions: From the M1, exit at junction 29 and take the A617 dual carriageway into the heart of Chesterfield. From the centre of the town pick up the B6051 which leads northwest towards the Peak District, and after a couple of miles Cutthorpe will be signed to the left.

Located in the picturesque village of Cutthorpe, just four miles from Chesterfield, is the delightful Peacock Inn. This former coaching inn is a large sprawling building surrounded by four acres of its own grounds. For visitors travelling by car there is plenty of parking space and you are welcome to bring children.

The17th-century stone-built pub gives no indication of what you are going to find inside, but we feel sure you will be pleasantly surprised. There are a number of inter-connecting rooms, many of them set with tables and chairs and suitable for dining. At one end a barn conversion houses the main restaurant which is a vision of cream cream painted walls, exposed ceiling beams, and luxurious cream tablecloths. Clearly the food is a popular attraction, and with one look at the menu its not hard to see why. There is a excellent variety from the sandwiches and jacket potatoes to the inspired a la carte selection, with everything freshly prepared to order. Food is served Tuesday to Sunday lunchtimes and Wednesday to Saturday evenings. Bookings are pretty much essential at weekends. At the bar there is a good selection to keep both the wine and real ale connoisseurs happy, together with all the other usual lagers and spirits.

There is a Kiddies play area at the rear/side with beer garden and adventure playground.

This was there before but was for the Owner's childrens personal use, now to be used by all! (i've had a go!)

Depends on the dates and if I can get somewhere to crashdown. I have a few mates in the area so if you get a date I will see what I can do.

Nice one!

I will leave this thread for a week for others to see then get a date set for the first one.

I will sort with Richard which date is best for him each month.

Even so, it's a great pub just to meet up in anytime anyway.
