As part of our club we decided that we would hold at least one charity event per year. This year the charity in reciept will be the Laura Crane trust.
Here is a little bit about it:
What is the Laura Crane Trust?
Laura Crane died just two weeks after her seventeenth birthday from a complex mix of four types of cancer. Cancer is the most common form of non-accidental death in teenagers and young adults, yet the Laura Crane Trust is the only UK charity funding research specifically into cancers affecting this age group.
We also fund measures to improve the lives of the young cancer patients while they are undergoing treatment and in the aftermath of their illness.

In order for us to raise money I am organising a treasure hunt around the Yorkshire Dales area.
How the treasure hunt works is everyone gathers in a certain point, this will be the start/finish, and is given a set time to leave. They are also given a list of co-ordinates and questions which refer to an OS Landranger map. Fundraisers must try to find as many answers to the questions as possible, the different questions are weighted in points and these vary depending how hard they are to find. Fundraisers have a set time to be back, if they return late then points are deducted for every minute of lateness.
The event will take place on a weekend in early October followed by a meal and hopefully a brewery trip. This should be a cracking day out and chance to give something back to the world where it is really needed.
In order to raise money there will me a minimum sponsership required either per person or per car (not decided yet). We will also be running a raffle during the course of the day.
Can I please make it common knowledge that this is in no way a rally and you will be driving on public roads with pedestrians and children playing in villages. Just remember that you will be representing your club.
We have confirmed attendance from Calendar news who will cover it and hopefully Galaxy 105.
As I am running the event along with EvoMattVI and we have both done this particular treasure hunt before we cannot compete but we will still be getting sponsers.
We can have as many people as we like doing it but I am afraid that we will be limiting vehicle entries to 10cars per club.
Please can you add your name below if you are willing to take part and if you are willing to use your own car. (I only say willing to use your own car because it might be easier to have cars with 4 seats as opposed to two).
