Finally drove an evo6 (update 28.1.06)

As some of you are aware i'm thinking of getting an Evo6 early next year.

But today i went to have a look at a Tommi Makinen edition, it was a Ralliart UK car number 48 and it was a 51 reg 8) .

I couldn't beleave how civilised the car was around town and how effertless it accelerated.

There was me thinking that they were stripped out rally cars but there not

This has made me more determined to get 1 (maybe even this 1 if i can sort my finances out)

the MAKS are the same as the GSR without the added weight/comfort of air conditioning , ABS etc
they both feel good in all areas
hope you find yourself a cracker :-)

Go for it,especially without being a UK model on a 51 plate, what colour was it?

Makinen differences to a GSR:

10.5 Full Titanium Turbo (opposed to 7.5 part Titanium)
Uprated Exhaust
Uprated Suspension
White Enkei Tarmac Wheels
Fuel System
Front Bumper
Red T.Makinen Trim

305 bhp @ 1.3 bar

It was Scotia white.

I'm really tempted, i just need to do some thinking with a calculator to work out how skint i'll be and for how long

There was 1 thing that put me off slightly, it had 18" wheels fitted (the same style as the 17's) but the wheel arch liner (the plastic bit) was removed because the wheels rubbed :???:

You have to go for it mate!
Thats not too good i looked for a stock 1.. but not a major issue if the rest of the car is ok.

Fuel is bad though! Your prepared for 18mpg when you boot it...
But you never see above 20... 21-22 on a run at the most. Small tanks half make it better though... only cost £40

Most Maks are GSR based aren't they?

There is an RS version that loses the driver aids/aircon etc ... TME Monte Carlo IIRC. Bazza just bought himself one

Will second that, you have to have it.The last count of white uk maks was 3 years ago and there were only 28 then,THIS IS A MUST

As for fuel consumption, how on earth do you guys get that figure,im lucky if i get 8 to the gallon when driving quick and about 17/18 on a run

but you will agree, its well worth it
