What a day

Had a emergancy callout today, A son called in to say his mums carbon monoxide alarm has being going off since saturday. Got to the house to be greated by a misrable step father (Rab C Nesbit styleee only welsh!!) telling me there was nothing wrong (didnt want to spend money) Anyway the san got me into the house where they had a solid fuel Aga. I could tell straight away it was leaking fumes, so i tested it 323 parts per million carbon monixide. The fatel limit is around 350
How the hell they are alive i dont know
Anyway after a barny with the old man i took the grate out and the coal and there now in a b & b for the night till it cools down for me to fix it.
Some people eh, after there being so much hype about in south wales about carbon monoxide poisoning recently you'd think people would be aware of this and not of how much it costs to put right. :???:
Anyway go to Tesco and buy a carbon monoxide detector cos you never know.

Went back today, the flue was over 3/4 blocked in 2 places and the internal flue way was blocked. It had been using the room as its chimney.
Go to tesco and buy a carbon monoxide alarm for less than a tenner. Doesent matter if you've got coal, wood, gas or oil there all carbon based and still produce Carbon monoxide. Preach finished
