Nearly Phucked by a Pheasant !

Didn't go out on the pop last night, so was up early this morning without a hangover (must be going soft as I get older :???: ) Weather looked OK so decided to take my ZX6 out for the first time in months, and so commenced my own, rather eventful, two wheeled Whitby run

After a naughty moment on the Bilsdale TT yumps (needed to turn to avoid running off the road, but found it rather difficult with the front wheel in mid air :muhaha: ), I managed to make it to Helmsley in one piece.

After a coffee to settle the nerves, I headed off on the Scarborough road and turned off onto the back road at Thornton le Dale. Just starting to wind it up and a couple of pheasants decide to cross the road in front of me. Start to slow down, one turns back, the other stops smack bang in the middle of the road. I pull across to the left, and it decides to take off and fly towards me  Bloody thing can only have missed my head by inches !

Once I got on to the Whitby road, I started to speed up again, nipping in and out of the traffic. Wasn't going excessively fast, about 95 tops, coming to the Hole of Horcum, I pull out to pass another car only to see a T5 sat in the layby  Pulled in , dropped rather quickly to 60 and cruised innocently past :bad:

Got to whitby, another coffee and a bacon butty (bit too early for fish and chips), and then back to Teesside. Must do it more often though, was a bit rusty which kept my speed down. One good side though, bit cheaper to run than the Evo - only cost me £12 to fill the tank again

Sounds like you had a pretty exciting day then :muhaha:

There is nothing like the feeling two wheels gives you, even the Evo's struggle to come close

I miss my bike with great sadness, every summer I get the urge to go and buy another......................

maybe I will soon..........just to get rid of that urge :muhaha:

Fancy something bigger like a ZX9 or a Fireblade, but given that I have trouble keeping the 6 under control, it may not be such a good idea

Besides, I've only been out on it half a dozen times this year - seems a waste of money at the moment. I never finish work early enough to go out on an evening, and something always seems to prevent me going out at weekends, whether it be work, rain or hangovers :muhaha:

Tell me about it - yesterday would have been a good day for the bike as well, but a wedding bash on Sunday night with a few too many double vodka and bailey's put paid to that

Yep, nasty habit I picked up a few years ago - the usual smooth taste of Bailey's but with an added kick. Doesn't curdle like a lot of people seem to think (at least not in the glass, don't know what it does once it reaches the stomach :P )
