Buying a couple of jerry cans ready for cadwell 2moro, just wondering what to clean them with. Obviously cant swill water inside them cos some would end up in the engine! How about a little bit of petrol? ops:

If you have a local hire shop i.e Hss or Hewden Stuart. I am sure they will let you use there steam cleaner or do it for you.

Or should I say the lads in the hire shops around here would.

If you wash it, then swirl it with some alcohol based solvent, the solvent should displace the water and then evaporate away. A final switl with petrol wouldn't help for good measure.

IPA is a good solvent for this.

From what I can gather he says he just bought them??? :???:

But if you do want to be safer than sorry, swill them out with petrol.

Dont use water or water based applications.

Water in petrol = BAD!
