who remembers

having a skateboard and getting a mate to tow you with a piece of rope whilst they are on ther bike. leaning over to turn and scrapping your knuckles on the floor or getting your fingers ran over by putting them to close and low to the front of the board

those child hood memories they crack me up

I don't wish to seem old or carefull But when I were a lad my dad used to get a piece of floorboard and screw an old pair of skates to the bottom to make a skateboard for us! Another thing he did, we were so poor he couldn't afford inner tubes for our bikes so he used to stuff the tyres with rags until they were rock hard  Going back even further I remember him when I was 6 or seven (1964- 65) cutting tread into tyres with a stanley knife  and making brake linings out of a leather belt. This was on a 100e ford sit up and beg. This is the gods truth as true as I'm sat here drinking clan morrisons
