Push bike brake cables

I know I like to moan about the price of things today But, just had to buy a new brake cable for the lad's BMX...WTF!!!!! £7.00 for a brake cable. It's one of those that splits into two then the handle bars can spin around, you can't just buy 6" of cable and a solderless nipple! you have to buy the whole feckin lot. My dad would turn in his grave if he knew I was paying out for all that instead of repairing the old one Guess who I get my carefulness off???
