Hello all

Hi y'all, writing some to say hello to you guys. I'm from Malaysia and just about to join the ranks of Evo owners.

Would like to say, absolute top site you guys have here and it was a big factor in my picking up a used Evo4 as my next ride.

Anyway, the 4 that I'm picking up is a low-miler, weekend toy car. It's got the following bits already tacked on:
- Apexi AFC
- Apexi AVC-R
- Apexi N1 cat-back
- Apexi Power Intake
- Decat pipe

The car's been dyno'd at 320bhp or so ATC with 1 Bar of boost, but I kinda feel that's a bit on the low side. How much should I be able to eke out of this car with the listed modifications?

Would it be advisable to up the boost to 1.2 Bar, considering that boost cut is at 1.2?

Thanks for reading, and I'd really appreciate any advice you could throw my way!

Hi and to evo.net. :-)

With those mods I would be very way of going over 1.1 bar without a chip/ecu to deal with fuelling

But I think one of our wonderful, respected tuners will advise better than me.

Enjoy 8)

The car was tuned to run at 1.1bar, initially but the previous owner backed it down to 1 so I suspect that he might have been running into the boost cut. Anyway, I was browsing through the forums earlier and sorta got the idea that the stock fueling was good for about 350-ish or so. Is the boost cut really at 1.2bar for the E4?

The AFC should be able to take care of any fueling needs, though a pressure regulator can easily be obtained if that should be required. Uprated fuel pumps will be a bit harder to come by but a used one of the GTO (you guys call it the 3000GT?) can be located without using up too much shoe leather. Timing might be a bit more iffy, I was thinking the Apexi ITC seems like the most logical fit considering the rest of the Apexi electronics already installed.

IMHO, I would concentrate on making the thing stop and turn better before fiddling with the engine.
If you can, pick up some Evo V/VI brembo calipers and some larger wheels [so the wheel fits over the caliper].
Then [if your budget stretches far enough] some coilovers.

This will transform the car no end. :muhaha:

Emmas is currently cutting at just 1.2 bar now. We're going down the ecu/reg/pump to cure it
