Tommi or Not?

I'm looking at buying this but am unsure of it being an authentic Tommi.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...n-41463314.htm

I've been to see it in person and am unable to figure it out. The year being 1999 is due to new Land Transport Safety Authority specs. The new rule is that the year is to be set at when the car was manufactured not when it was first registered. I'm going to see it again today after work. The salesman reckons its an authentic Tommi. I personally have only ever seen this front bumper on a 6.5 Rally Car in Europe on a Europe website (which I cant remember sorry). It has the front strut brace(factory looking) and Tommi Seats.

Looks fine to me.

I have seen that front bumper on a few other TMEs , so i guess is was some sort of factory option?

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Thanks heaps paulpicks21.

Any other pointers on what to look for when looking at one of these? The salesman said that they have had a few evos coming back after a short amount of time(after being sold) in a bad state e.g. blown turbos etc. So as a precaution they have lowered the boost to below factory settings (on all cars not just this one) to allow for idiot drivers thrashing them (common occurence in Auckland, New Zealand). How is this possible? There does not seem to be any modifications present in/on/or around the car other than a turbo timer.

If I was you , I would ask them how they lowered the boost.
It does seem strange that they have said this , as over here the first Modification people usually do is to up the boost a bit , as this is usually fairly safe cheap mod done with a boost controller of some decription.
And also changing the ecu.
