Newbie in a kilt

Alright folks, a newbie here from glorious Scotland.

Hoping to get myself either an Evo V or Vi in the very near future but unfortunately the insurance quotes I've been getting are ridiculous. £1600ish for a 28 year old male with a clean licence and 6 years no claims seems a bit steep but I was hoping you guys could advise me if this is about normal or of any decent insurance companies? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Cheers for now and thanks for putting up with a cheeky new boy asking for help already. :-)

to Evo.Net mate :-)

Insurance is certainly a pain in the ass, try the specialists I'm with Keith Micheals who offer a discount for Paid up members of Evo.Net :-)

Give em a call

If it's the first group 20 car you've driven, you will struggle to insure it cheaply first time around, as i found out 2 years ago, regardless of what you have driven in the past

Good luck with the car hunt 8)

Cheers fella, I'll give them a try.

Had a grp 20 Sapphire Cossie 4x4 for 5 years but got rid for a Yamaha R6, which is now in the possession of thieves. The Cossie was down to £450 a year comp when I sold it on so I got a bit of a shock when £1600 was the best I got.

Hoping to get down around the £700 - £800 mark. Think it's achievable?

By the way, your Evo is minted. 8)

yep matey, you could have a dodgy postcode, which will be sending their computers into meltdown, not saying you live in a dump, but the area code may have had a lot nicked cars to its name, which is why the better areas sometimes pay more, cos the thieving scrotes tend to target the areas with the nice cars.try Adrian Flux did mine for a grand, good luck. 08700 777 888.
