Hi newbie here.
Hello you guys hows tricks. I've been lurking in the side lines for a good while now and thought it time i introduced myself.
I've got a budget of Around £12000 and would love an evo 8 but realistically that is not gonna happen on this budget. But i was driving through town today and spotted a silver evo 7 gsr for sale. The guy wanted 14 grand but he said he would sell for 13 grand cash. It has 16000 on clock on a Y reg. It has full dealer service history all but 1 service but it has been serviced at around 2000 miles each time. (seen stamps) it has cat 1 security. It only did 12 miles before inport (seen stamp) Minor stone chips (very few) but glove has a scratch on it that would need to be replaced.standard as far as can tell except for pillar boost guage. Engine sounds sweet but not had test drive yet. I'm very interested but would it be a good buy for resale to make a few quid on for possible evo8. he did suggest there might be a couple of hundred knocked off extra for me to replace glove box and stone chips. Any advice welcome thanks :-) |

To be honest evo 7s are going from anything between £10500 - £15k at the moment depending on lots of things , i have just put a deposit down on a french blue evo 7 with 30k which has been in the uk from new with full service history and i am buying it for £12500. I would say the one you are interested in is priced about right , but i am certain you would have trouble trying to sell it on for any more than that. The evo sales market is very slow at the moment and has been for some time . Best of luck with whatever you decide to do and hello and welcome to evo.net

sounds like a good car , history is ok ,mileage is good & price is ok but to sell on & make a profit not much chance as you are paying what its worth the 7's dont sell as well as 6 & 8's so if you dont want it yourself forget it!! oh and to evo.net

thanks for that, you all confirmed what i already thought.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not against having an evo 7 or six come to think of that but i prefer the look of the 8. What about buying a 7 that i really want (in black) and sorting some evo 8 bumpers etc. How much would i look at on top of the buying cost of the car to make it cosmetically the same. |

Hmmm , its prob cheaper to just buy an 8 than buying a 7 and making it look like an 8, i have seen plenty of 8s going for as little as £14500 so it may be worth saving up a little more and getting what you really want. Also a 7 done up as an 8 will be harder to sell on for you when the time comes. |
