Evo I compares to Eclipse gen I

Hello, i am new to the forum. I have a few questions i need to ask, so bare with me.
Since i live in north america (Canada) we never had Evo till the generation 8 came out in the states. Canada in the other hand never received any Evo as up to date. Since Canada has the special 15years import rule we are allowed to bring in Evo I in the end of next year. So there are some mind blowing questions, since the Eclipse shared the same engine. Do both cars shared the same drivetrain as well? Does Evo has the electrical problems like the Eclipse we get in Canada. Thanks for your patience.

I also heard the (91,92)galant VR4 shared the same drivetrain as the Evo. So does that mean i could maintan it without importing parts from japan?
