intercooler spraying

this may sound a daft question but does it damage your intercooler if you spray it? my funds are running low so cant afford the intercooler i want just yet so was thinking of giving it a light dusting with ye old spray paint???? will this have a bad effect or am i just being a jessie and it wont effect a thing? :???:

to be honest mate i dont know if i damages it but people spary the mitsubishi logo on the front of the intercooler
