Yakima Roof rack for Evo8MR

Hi,
I have bought an Evo 8 MR and am trying to get hold of a Yakima roof rack for it.

Can anyone help me by letting me know what Yakima parts have been used for the Evo8 MR so that I can import the right bits for my car.

I am not looking to debate :bad: whether you can fit a rack to an MR or even if you should. I know most in the UK (including Colt cars, the Mitsubishi importer) say you can not put a rack on an MR. However, before I bought the car, I searched the internet and found a postings showing a roof rack fitted to an Evo8MR (shown below), and saying to use the Yakima rather than the Thule rack. Since the Thule rack sits partly on the Aluminium panel. Also looking at the Body Repair section of the workshop manual, you can see that the outer parts of the roof should be as strong as a conventional Evo8 roof for supporting weight.

Now for the issue:
Yakima racks are not imported to Europe. (If anyone knows better then please let me know where I can get them!).

Yakima US say they don’t know the Evo . They believe it is just a European car. I am trying to explain that they are available in the US, but have not got very far to date.

Yakima will not tell me if I need the parts for a Mitsubishi Lancer or what I need! :helpme:

Nope sorry cant help. All i will say is, dont put anything heavy on it if you do get one :shock:
