Anyone know much about FTO's?

My mates just sold his civic type R as he is buying a house and wants somethin quick but pretty cheap. He fancies an FTO basically.

Have told him to get the manual and he agrees as the tiptronic is meant to be pretty poo ive heard. Anyone know much about them? Think hes after the 2.0 v6 GPX model. Are the mechanicals pretty good etc?

Think they look like a lot of car for the cash really.

cheers for any comments :-)

I think performance wise, compared to the civic he's going to be rather dissappointed tbh. But horses for courses. The manual is a better choice than the auto! When the auto goes wrong it's big bucks to fix. Cant you pursuade him into an early evo???? Much more bang for your buck!!! 8)

hes had a drive in one and was pretty impressed. thought performance was similar but smoother on the fto with the v6 engine. dont think he'll have an early evo. he just wants somethin quick and sporty basically, civic was a brand spanker and has just flogged it for 14k so is looking to spend approx £3500 on an fto, seems to be a fair few about by looks of it, just not many manuals.

really matey? He'd be interested i'm sure. think he is basically gonna spend say 3-3.5k and spend about 500 on mods. prob stick some different wheels on it and an exhaust i would have thought. wants a nice cruiser to go to the ring in.

Pretty good car, servicing is pretty expensive though due to the way the engine is configured, we have serviced quite a few

We can get you any tuning mods you need for it ..........

GTO is a better choice though if you can extended to that :muhaha:

servicing isnt really much of a problem. he ued to be a mechanic so is pretty good with most stuff. may struggle with some of the harder stuff though.
