Uprated Headlamp bulbs for an E6
Hi guys and gals
I am wanting to uprate the bulbs in the headlamps but am not sure which ones to go for. I am ideally looking for bulbs that I can use with the existing wiring but ideally they will be a fair bit brighter than the standard poor ones! Anyone got any recommendations before I spend some pennies ? Thanks in advance |

The lites on the VI are a nightmare which is down to the design. The only real solution i have found is to fit 90/130 bulbs which does improve it noticably.I know 90 on dip and 130 on high sounds like it will be too bright and cause problems with other road users dont worry it wont because of the design of the actual lenses the bulbs dont show as bright as they normally would. You probably wont be able to find these in your local Trevors Motorparts shop as technically they are illegal but if you find a proper auto electrician suppliers they should be able to supply them for you.If you have no luck in finding them let me know and i will be able to help you out. Glad someone mentioned that, I thought I was driving faster than the speed of light
The lights on my E6 are absolutely shit, I would be as well driving with them off!!!

Evo IV-VI aren't known for their headlights being great. They do get better on the Vectra shape Evo's.

Well I was going to remove the PIAA driving lamps on the front but to be honest I am using them more and more with the lack of brightness from the headlamps
Rally pod needed I think  |

depends how much you want to spend :muhaha:
HID xenons are the nuts but will cost 300 ish if your budgets less some PIAA super brights for about £90 will be a vast improvement |

PIAA do an excellent range but are pretty pricey. Ideally you want some "Hi-lo" bulbs that only draw the normal 55-65w but produce the equivalent of 100w+ 8)
If your wiring on the VI is as crappy as that on my II i wouldnt recomment just getting higher wattage bulbs as you'll be in danger on melting the wiring :x So an ebay search for H4 (or whatever the main bulbs are in a VI) 4000 or 5000k. Even the cheapo chinese bulbs may be better than what you have in at the moment? |
