Poor petrol or poorly car?

:???:

Filled the car with opty last Sunday, and all i've done this week is drive to work and back in it.

From Tuesday, it felt really slow. Boosting fine etc, but just didn't feel right at all. Not pulling as well as normal..

Anyway, just filled up again tonight, (ran it right down) and went for a spin. After about 30 miles or so, bingo, the car is normal again

Question is, is there something wrong with the car? Or did the garage mix the fuel up last weekend?? (I do hope not  )

maybe it was just a bad batch of fuel mate

fingers crossed for ya

and you shouldnt go thro puddles at a great speed   its not good.

a mate of mine years ago went thro a big puddle faster than he should have and it cost him a new engine

sucked up a load of water and hey presto hydrostatic lock in the block

top tip "STAY AWAY FROM PUDDLES"

That will be optimax for you. After recent tests that we ahve conducted ourselves along with various other tuners, optimax is the worst super fuel on the market.

Now before this sparks off a debate,i am only relating to you what we found with the results.

With the amount of additives that shell have been putting into the fuel to recieve 98 ron that they pride themselves of,it has actually been having an adverse reaction. We found that there was regularly 'low' batches found. Also the fuel was found to be 'going off' over short periods of time.

Concluding our results we found that the best fuel to use which consistantly came back with good results was BP Ultimate.

Hope this helps

Lloyd

I've also found that Optimax is of variable quality and can go off - although it doesn't stay in the tank long enough with the EVO

Did you try Esso and Total SUL ?

I've not tried the Esso but Total seems quite good (IIRC the Calorific value is higher than Optimax).

Cheers,

Simon
