To DV or not to DV, that is the question

I have heard that removing the DV can have a small performance benefit as well as sounding great. I know that there are a few peeps on here running without a DV and I have been thinking of removing mine. Before doing so I would like to know peoples views on this and how well the E6 GSR turbo holds up without a Dv fitted, I will be running 1.3 bar.

You can remove the recirc valve and bung the hole which forces the air out the wastegate when you close the throttle.

It does make a noise, but it's stalling your turbo, adding extra strain to it and causing more lag. The amount of strain and lag it causes is arguable, but why risk it for noise?

There's nothing rational about a loud, firmly sprung car that will annoy eight passengers out of 10. The Type-R is selfish.
The Type-R appeals to the racing driver in you, the suppressed sliver of your soul which is obsessed with little tricky-bits of engineering that the person in the street is genetically resistant to, the chunk of your heart which beats faster when you're on a satisfying road in a satisfying car, the part of you which says you will never, ever, drive a Vauxhall Vectra by choice.

"apparantly" :muhaha:
