Central locking on my IV doesn't work!

Hi Guys,

Sorry i haven't been on lately, started a new job and been trying to learn that inside out for the last couple of weeks. Hard work but i love it!

Anyway, the problem i have is the central locking on my IV, i was only told recently it had it! As far as i was concerned i just used the key!

Can anyone think of why it doesn't work? Anyone else had this problem?

I tried to take the drivers door panel off today to see if there was a solanoid or summit that could've been causing the problem but i couldn't get it off, All the poppers came off and i took the leccy window switch column out but i couldn't get the door handle cover to budge (which was the only thing holding it on) I didn't want to force it incase it broke. Help!

I need this sorting asap as my alarm gets fitted on Wed and i need the central locking to be working so i can have it running off the key fob.

Your help lads and lassies is most appreciated.

Edo

Have you checked the fuse and your battery for the central locking?

Mine works from a button on the key and there is a small watch type battery in it. Got my battery from my local keysmith's.

Awright bud how's tricks? I'm working at Glasgow Airport as an Aircraft Refueller with BP, fucking superb job mate. Working half the hours of my last job and getting shit loads more for it!

So i've had my head down the last couple of weeks trying to get to grips with the job (and a couple of air hostesses, but thats for another time).

Sorry i haven't been in touch, got tommorow Tue and Wed off so give me a bell if your free and i'll fire through and you can take a look at it for me.

All the fuses are fine, but i never thought to check the battery in the key so i'll do that now and see what happens. (I'm gonna feel such a prat if it is, but better than having to strip down the door again for no reason)

Later

Edo

I working the weekend T. Car goes in to the shop on Monday to get the alarm fitted. Might give him a bung if he can sort it, he'll have to anyway so he can get it working off the fob.

Put a new battery in the key on Sunday and it didn't make a differance, still not working.

Anyone know where the sensor for it is so i can check it, just thinking, it might be covered in crap or summit and blocking the signal. Just trying to narrow down the possibilities.
