well when the engine si running you can rev the engine up.. it is lumpy and sounds as if it is not firing on all cylinders... but then the Check Engnie light coems on and the revs slowly die down until the engine cuts out...

the only thing that has really happened in the last few weeks is that when we had all the bad weather I had the car slide out on me for a second.. the check engine light came on for a bit then went off.. but has been fine for a few weeks..

i really dont like this one bit lol

so when it starts to die-even if you put your foot flat to the floor it wont increase!
could be fuel pump packing in,same symtoms but wouldn't flick engine light on!
i have light on mine but thats because ive taken the cat out.
maybe ask Ric @RG motors he's in the know and may have seen this before

i was thinking fuel pump too...

and come to think of it the engine check lights comes on if the engine is about to stall so i guess it would do the same thing if it was getting staved of fuel..

anyone else got any ideas ??

symtoms of fuel pump failure are that it starts but dies almost straight away!

Correct me if I'm wrong I usually am If you pull the fuel pump fuse, turn the engine over this will depressurise the system. Then put the fuse back in and turn on the ignition you should be able to hear the fuel pump presurising the system again! (I think ) Failing that it may be the fuel pump relay?
