5000 rpm limiter?
Hey guys, I have a '03 VIII (US spec). And just this weekend I ran into a guy that had a '05 VIII (US spec)
We were having the usual talk about the car and the engine. Then he told me that Mitsu put a Limiter on the '05 VIII at 5000 rpm's. I was shocked and thought maybe he was doing something wrong his car. Then he showed me, and sure as shit..... the limiter kicked in at 5g's. Does any other coutry out there have this problem with the '05 VIII's or is it just backwards Americans. I makes me glade that I got my car when the first came to the US. But I hope that this doesn't become a trend for the Mitsubishi motors of America. Plus the IX is is on its way, does this mean its going to get hammed down too :?: New US Evo owners beware :evil_mad: |

i would guess that it is a requirement on u.s. evos.
as far as im aware evo vi are not allowed into the u.s. dont think they want sub 5 or 6 sec cars over there the p"O"lice wont be able to pull them over!! |

Yeah it just pisses me off that the US alwasy get the water down import cars, or shall I say Japanese cars. Because the we can always get 500 hp US or European cars.
But I still don't get it, because as far as I know the STI hasn't been messed with. |
