EVO 2 Idle Probs ???

Hi guy's

Hope someone can help here,

Problem with an EVO 2

idles at 1000rpm on cold start, then 1500rpm when warm
no fluctations in idling

Could this be the idle stepper motor or the idle control valve

Generally on the Pulsar GTI-R's this is the Idle Control Valve, idea's anyone?

Cheers

Carl

check your ecu m8 i have 'mines' on the red car and that idles @1500 take it off and replace for a standard one it idles @ 1000rpm,the mines one is easy to tell as it revs to 9000rpm and makes power to 8000,failing that try idle control valve its just under the inlet tract were the rubber pipe is,has a multi plug going to it and you usually find its dis-connected.

When I put my Mines ECU in my Evo 3, it dropped the idle to approx 500rpm as opposed to the usual 900rpm with the standard ECU.

Is there something wrong with mine?!

But wouldn't that mean that my normal idle with my normal ECU would be weird/unstable also? Car runs sweet as a nut at both hot and cold idle.

depends how it goes, the botch for it is to unplug it while its idleing near ok,it would then stay like that,it could just be the idle air screw however
