speedo jumping

hi guys,i have an evo VI, only had it 2months,i have noticed a few times now that when im accelarating in 4th gear, the speedo jumps from 80to90 then jumps back down to 80mph,then its ok,i bought it from a garage who imports straight from japan,so not been in the country too long,(cant have had speedo mod done too long ago) i have heard stories about water getting into speed sensor at gearbox, does this sound like what is wrong with my car??? If so how do i go about fixing it?

Are you able to take it to the importer, if you don't want to where do you live, there's bound to be an eov place nearby.

I've a E4 with a speedo coversion, mines does the exact same, but done it since conversion. I've always put it down to the electronic convertor having a bad hair day when it has to convert a rapidly changing speed reading. I'm in Livingston, West Lothian.

the lads have it in one, the converter which is just on the bulk head normally in the engine bay must be damp or water in it, try drying it out with the hairdryer mate ! iof you sort it, bind it up with tape, or maybe get yourself a new one they are cheap.
