Help Needed with Power FC

ey there guys. I would like some help about the power fc. I have an evo 6 gsr, is there no difference with the power fc between the one for the 5 or the 6? the installer didnt even give me the manual saying it was in japanese. Is the power fc really bolt on? how come he cut a blue wire saying if it wasnt cut the batery wont charge? since i changed with the fc i noticed my temp goes way up high around the 100 area, doesnt the fan need to kick in? and when i turn on my a/c the fan doesnt turn on, only radiator fan turns on. Anyone have an idea where i can get a manual? i nid help and from where i am.which is the philippines, theres not much evo assistance here.. your help would mean a lot. thanks.

you have fitted a 5 power fc to a 6? or the other way roud?

if a 6 one is fitted to an earlier one then the battery wont charge and a 'g' terminal at the ecu needs cutting. was it the L Jetro or D Jetro version you had fitted? your temp should stay around 79 degrees on the commander so you may have a problem there.

are you running the base map or have you had it mapped?

re

i have a 6 gsr. I am not sure if the shop fitted a power fc for a 5 or a 6, but the apexi catalogue reads the 5 and 6 have the same product code. The shop didn't even give me the manual or install guide saying it was in japanese, any help where i can download one?. I saw that the shop cut a blue/ yellow wire from the 16 pin plug. Isnt it supposed to be plug and play? how come there was a cut wire? am still running the stock ecu program, havent messed with it yet. need help and info. thanks.

the 5 & 6 power fc's have their own product codes, they are model specific. the manuals do come in jap i'm afraid, and i wouldn't worry about getting the ecu manual as it doesnt tell you anything really anyhow. you should be able to find the commander manual in english online though, i have it somewhere.

not sure what they have one and why they have snipped that wire. as i said before if you put a 6 ecu in an earlier one you have to snip a wire at the plug as they seem to have done on yours, but i dont know why they have done this.

you can put the commander into monitor mode and monitor the battery voltage, you should see about 14v with the engine running. if its fine then i dont think you need worry.

only thing i'd say is dont drive the car too hard on the base map cos the midrange ignition is too advanced and causes detonation. you need to get it mapped properly.
