Hi mate, and welcome.

The 260 is a great car, and amazing value at the moment. It's based on a EVO VII shell with a twin cat exhaust and a boost limter (on first gear i think) to stop hard launches which the reason for the longer 0-60 time.

As to which model to get, it depends what you want. If you're going to start modding then 260 is a great cheap base and you can soon get it up the power of the 300 plus FQs, a 260 with a new exhaust, intake and boost controller should easily break 320 BHP. IF you planning on modding

If you value the warrenty and want to keep it stock then the MR 300 may be better option, but it'll cost you. You'll get a more power, a slightly stronger enigine, a six speed box, bilstein suspension, alu roof and HIDs.

Have look in the technical section on here for more details of the variations and the buyers guide is well worth a read.http://www.lancer-evo.net/community/...le&file_id=133

No problem at all.

Just one more thing that might be worth considering, you can probably get a new import VIII MR GSR (sold as an FQ300 in ht UK) for about the price of a 260, it'd give all the MR enhancements at a bargin price, but you wouldn't get a warrenty (no problem if you're going to mod it anyway)

I had a test drive in a used 300 before buying my 260.
There is a significant power difference, but to me anyway, getting a new car and having the full warranty made up for it.

I've only done 1600 miles so the engine probs has a bit of freeing up to do, regardless the 260 is a very rapid motor I certainly have no regrets.
