Got a big problem help please

Hi there everyone i have quite a big problem with my evo 4. I was driving the car the other night quite hard when all of a sudden the limiter kicked in at 5k and the engine managment light came on and put the car in safe mode. The light flickers on and off but when it does go off the car develops a nasty misfire. Iam thinking that there is a sensor fault but not to sure. Any help would be appreciated.
