Best way to choose a mechanic

What is the best way you guys have found to find a reputable mechanic? My husband and I are moving soon and we won't really know anybody when we get there. What are the best ways to to tell if your guy really knows his stuff?

Ask around. The best way to find out if a mechanic is good is by reputation-if they aren't good then people will know it and will tell you. If you ask people you work with it no one else they should be able to point you towards someone decent.

That's a pretty difficult situation you have to put yourself in Speed, I wish you all the luck in the world! Being anyplace without knowing anyone is really hard. As for Mechanics, like above, ask around, maybe see if you can find some auto-mechanic reviews online (Hey, they have reviews for everything else)!

Looking around online is one way to find a mechanic but also just ask around as you meet new people. See who they use and if the prices are fair and if they do good work. Shouldn't be too hard to find one!
