no boost controller as far as aware, was told the engine was std. the vac pipe comes off turbo into a t piece then onto the switch, it has a boost gauge fitted so guessin the t piece is for that

strange even if you had a boost controller fitted there would be no need to disconnect this, reconnect it and see :-)

hmmm, yes, no idea why its disconnetd, looks like its been like that for a while too by the dirt on the tape....

do all evo 4's have a t piece nr the actuator? it goes off the actuator into the t piece, one goes to the swithch and one goes to the turbo pipe it looks like...

think ill reconnet it tomorrow and see what happens,

why would this have been disconneted? surly it will boost better and run better conneted????

yep t piece should be down there, solanoid acts like a bleed valve but ecu controlled for better control over rev range, yours will be boosting stock but with no control

hmm, yes thats what was thinkin, it boosts to 0.8 thats it, with the solinoid disconnected ecu wont read the boost i guess cause nothing tellin it??? so if i connect the plug it should boost nicer and remove gromet should do 1.1 bar?? goin to remove it tomorrow and see what happens, just been readin loads on mlr, some impressive gains by removing this gromet.

how do i notice a fuel cut tho? will the engine judder or practically stall?

Oh don't worry you'll know when you hit fuel cut

Its like someone has pulled the plug on your boost :muhaha:

Would be very carefully with what you do though ........we have seen many a IV engine very worse for wear due to incorrect boost levels and wanting that " little bit more "
