HELP !!!!

Hi peeps,

Right i need some ideas and foughts please if u have 5 min to spare,

i am in progress of getting an evo 5 which already has a HKS exhaust and Filter
if i had 1500 to spare what things could i get , i have been speaking to 2 performance shops
and both diffrent,

1) Manifold and Blitz boost controller

2) Power fc command stand alone ecu, and apexi avr-c boost controller

Both of them i would eant a b&m short shifter

What would you choose out the 2 , or what would you go with, already have upratted suspension and brakes.

THANKS

how do buddy and a warm too evo.net

rite so you have those 2 mods only yes?????????
and 1500 sheets too spend!!!!!!!!!

1. i would suggest a fuel pump upgrade for a start buddy b4 you do ant more (can get em for about 75 notes if you look on tinterweb)

im guessing that you already have a decat pipe?????????
if not then thats your next step (free up those exhaust gases) and may i suggest a 3" downpipe also my friend!!!!!

erm i see no gains in fitting an after market manifold (do a search on here anss see wot has been said about the standard 1 ok ) and a short shifter??????? are you putting the car on the track, sprinting it ,hill climbs or every day fast (legal limits) road use?????? wouldnt bother with 1 myself!!!!!!

you seem too have bin given a spot of good advice from 1 performance SHOP ref the power FC (or other after market ecu upgrade) and the avcr boost controller (if your upping the boost to over 1.3bar i would suggest an after market bov too buddy ok)

i would deffinately go down that route but try talking too a couple of the evo TUNING SPECIALISTS from this forum they will point you in the rite direction (and tend too know a little more than your performance parts shop supplier)

and remember you dont always have too fit new parts 2nd hand will work just as good (age and condition taken into account) so you will be able too buy more mods for your money (my mak is full of 2nd hand mods 8) )

hope iv helped you in sum way cheers kennyp

As kennyp has already said , the stock manifold is plenty good enough! good for at least 500bhp and even after that they can be ported to run upto stupid amounts like 900bhp.

Regarding the short shifter , in my eyes a waste of money , and infact i seem to remember people fitting them and fooking up their gearboxes or clutches cos of them so i wouldnt bother.

Really you have to ask yourself what power you want as a final figure?

Once you have that figure in mind you can set about getting the right bits for the job .

But basically for 1500 quid , just get a fuel pump and the ecu sorted out and if you have any change spend it on some decent brake pads.

With option 2 on your original first post , as long as you get an uprated fuel pump you will easily see 320bhp proberly more like 340-350 i recon.

again spot on advice from paul nice 1 buddy

erm looking for those figures is very easy too achive with wot you have already and wot you have too spend on the car mate

have a shop around speak too ppl on here (pm them if you would rather keep things private) and then when you have a plan just go for it lol

lots of ppl will say a variety of different things too you ref modding your evo (there is no hard and fast laws or rules that say you have too do wot others have done) but you must follow a few basic guidelines too keep you out off the poo

happy modding matey and remember if your unsure then just ask away sum1 will have the answer sumwhere

Evo 9 actuator cuz your going to need one anyway, set it up to 1.2bar
Reflash the ecu to get rid of a few nasties like fuel cut but also sort the fueling/timing while your there and you should be sorted :-)
