When does your turbo 'kick in'?

I took the evo out yesterday after about 2 weeks or so & it felt ...................... slow :???:

The last time i took it out it was flying!!!

So i thought it might have just been me, so today i took it out again & it felt ........................... slow :???:

Usually it doesnt seem to hardly have any turbo lag but for some reason the turbo doesnt seem to be fully in til about 3.5 - 4,000 rpm & it seems to take ages to get there!!

Any ideas people?

AJ

might sound a silly question, do you have a boost gauge, that would be an easy way to check?
