Clutch Problem Evo III
Hi everyone,
I have just bought an Evo 3 :-) and there appears to be a problem with the clutch. While driving normally (with forward gears) the clutch and gear change is perfect, albeit with a very short travel on the clutch pedal. When trying to select reverse the gear crunches badly when going in. The only way to stop it crunching is to push incredibly hard on the pedal and get it to move about and inch past the normal travel, then reverse goes in fine. If the pedal is pushed a little too far however the car makes a horrible whine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

Im not really familiar with Evo's yet. I assume you mean the fork which depresses the thrust bearing? Sounds like a difficult job to repair, might be easier just to get the warranty to sort it?

I only picked it up on Tuesday so the clutch is covered under the 3 month warranty. Thanks for the advice mate I'll just get it done under the warranty.

There was another thing. Some times when driving normally the clutch pedal goes all the way down with little resistance but doesnt come back up all the way. I had this on a Scooby and it was the master cylinder. Are the two thing unrelated or part of the same problem. Sorry just remembered it does that.
