ayc pump(yep, another ayc pump topic!!)

Hi

my ayc light has been coming on over the last couple of weeks :???: When i start the car the light stays on briefly then goes out, only to come back on after a short while

I left the Evo at a garage today & had it plugged into a MUTII. When they phoned to let me know what the problem was they said it was the pump :shock:

Now i did research before buying the Evo so i know it's not a cheap job to replace pump. Is there any way i can test the pump myself just to make sure?

Just want to make sure it isn't something simple like the switch etc. Not saying the garage would be dishonest & say it's the pump to get more £ out of me, it's just a big wedge of £ i'd have to part with & i wanna make sure
