Evo 1 clutch

there is a lot less travel in the clutch pedal, does this mean the clutch is on the way out. And it can sometimes be hard to get into 1st gear or reverse. Often causing it to crunch!

Is the the clutch, if so any recomendations on a new one. I do like launching the car but don't want to heavy a clutch

thanks

That cold be your clutch or it could be something else.

Does your clutch slip under load?

If yes then your clutch is on its way.

If this is not the case, try putting some molyslip (halfords) in, some say this doesn't work, but it has worked with ours and Bens (ben recommended it to us)

Also some times the clutch fork goes weak this also causes problems, if this is the case it will go snap without any warning. It has done this to me and also to Briggsy.

Best thing I can suggest is try the molyslip first after a week if you are still having problems try the good old trick of starting off in 2nd on a slight gradient and see if the clutch starts slipping. If the clutch doesn't slip I would strongly suggest you check the clutch fork.

Our clutch was slipping we changed that, then had problems getting into gear. (one day it was fine the next day you could have kicked hell out of the car) so we tried changing the gearbox oil and put some molyslip in it. about a week later, I was having trouble getting it into 1st, managed to get it into gear and just as I started off the clutch fork snapped and the clutch pedal stuck to the floor. These are about £100 from mitsi.

If it is your clutch we have a excedy organic (fast road) in ours. It's not too heavy and can take a few launches (has taken a few) it's a bit heavier than the standard clutch but not as heavy as the cusco paddle (carbon plates) we had previously.

Hope this helps

I will get Neil (evo1man) to answer that one. He does all the service and repairs on our cars. I just buy the stuff and talk nice to him when I have broken it

All I know is it goes in the same place that you put your gearbox oil in ops:

the molyslip goes in the same place as the gearbox oil m8.its a friction reducer (like slick 50 only cheaper ),check the seals in your clutch master and slave cylinders and try bleeding it.
