Evo 5 Clutch Needs Changing Been Quote 1K Is This Right?

Hi guys, got an evo 5 and the clutch is going, been quoted by my local evo dealer around 1000 pounds for the clutch plus maybe the cost of a flywheel.

This sounds like a lot of money, is this a lot of money?

What do most people pay.

Is there anyone else local to me who can do the job, or wants to come to me?

I have changed a lot of clutches in the past on cars like renuault 5 gt turbos and rs turbos but i am a little bit scarred of these, is there anyway a work list on how to do it like you would get in a haynes manual so i can see whats involved?

Can it be done at home on car wheel ramps?

Thank you for your help.

John

not sure mate it does not sound that unrealistic. I have yet to have the honour of getting a clutch done in this country yet.

You will be looking at around £200-250 + vat for labour. Price of the clutch purely depeds on what you are looking at. If you're within a budget, would recomend going for an Exedy or AP, steer clear of Helix As for somebody within your area, we are based in Norfolk, other than that you have Rich@RG Motorsport near chelmsford or TDi at Thurock.

Hope this helps

Lloyd :-)

As the guys have said you can get it done a lot cheaper from a specialist, Mitsi dealers always charge more ....in some cases as much as £1400 I've heard off some of our customers

Get yourself along to one of the independant specialists
