VIII Reverse Gear

Hi Guys
Been having problems of late,
I sometimes can't select reverse gear. its starting to do my head in.
It worse in the morning.
I have to select other gears then put it into reverse.
Could it be the clutch starting to play up.
Its only been happening the past week or so.
I had my 260 mapped etc a few weeks ago...could this have started to kill the clutch???
