Whining / Droaning Gearbox

Just fpund put my droan / whining that has started is realted to the gearbox

Bit annoyed as I made sure the car had had the gearbox done prior to buying it as I know this seems to be a problem.

The car has only done 1700 miles since the last gearbow rebuild (done for the previous owner by a ralliart mechanic!!!!)

Looks like I now have to go get it done correctly by someone who knows what they are doing :x

Are there are other reasons why the box could have F@@K up so soon after a supposed rebuild?

Lee

Not having a good afternoon today!

No short shifter as far as I know and I am pretty sure there aint one.

I am just a bit annoyed really that I have to go get it done again. If I had it done I would go back and complain with the guy but as the car has been sold since then I am sure I would get told where to go!!!!

I am going to go to the guy who built my 550 BHP Skyline engine as he is really good at build engines and boxes so should have no problems this time (fingers crossed)

Sorry to hear that Lee babes

We've rebuilt loads of gearboxes and had no problems at all, did they rebuild with new parts or secondhand, as that could be your prob :???:

Hope you get it sorted

That is a scary thought that someone would build a gearbox with
second hand parts surely a reputable dealer wouldnt do that
WOULD THEY??

Well the first rebuild was at 14K miles from a main dealer with a big long parts list so should have been new.

The second rebuild was by a rally art mechanic out of works time I was told so you never know what happened there.

Richard at RG has told me its definatly the gearbox that I need to get sorted.

Oh well just going to make sure its done right this time and things should be ok.

Well sounds like success at last.

I can pick the car up again tonight or tomorrow with all the gearbox and transfer box sorted.

Apparently even tho the 2 previous rebuilds had been done the shiming in the boxes was so far out it must have been carried out by someone who knows nothing about transmissions at all :x

However now the box and transmission are sorted with a clean bill of health from someone who knows what they are doing so I am one happy evo owner again :-)
