please can anyone help

hi there my names adam and i am new to this site, i have a evo1 and i have noticed recently that in fifth gear when i accelerate the gear stick is moving back and de accelerating forward, any suggestions many thanks adam

as above it will move a bit but not far.

could it be gearbox mounts or engine mounts worn????

as said you do get a likkle movement

i have found in fifth

in fifth gear if i slow down and hold it forward then accelrate again it stay forward us if its locked back in place ? but then if i slow back down and put my foot back down without holding forward again it moves back and forth, ???????

STOP driving it!!!!!!!!!!! Inside the gearbox there are two shafts whicht he gears are on. They are all held together on each shaft by a very large nut. 36mm if i remember correctly. Whats happened is these nuts have worked loose and have started to undo and if they come off they will shoot out the side of your gearbox at a fare rate of knots :shock: :shock:
Where abouts are you in the uk ? I have done this job a fair few times on other peoples cars and is pritty easy.
Will find the link for you so you can see what i mean and how its fixed
