hi guyz,

since yesterday, its really hard to put the car in 1st when i come to a stop. ive been told its just my clutch that needs changing as it has never been changed. but the clutch doesnt slip, the only time it did was a couple months back when i was launching it. so is it my clutch, or is it the gearbox?? what u guyz reckon ?

Deffo sounds like clutch mate...

Simple test.....put it in first....pull away....take it to the limiter then put it straight into fifth......This will tell you if the clutch is iffy! :-)

If you are able to determin its not the clutch then there are a few other things you can check. The bulk head is prone to splitting around the clutch master cylinder. To cure you will need a plate welded over it to secure. The other is checking the gear stick in 5th gear to see if it moves when accelerating and decelerating. If so you you will need to tighten the two main shaft nuts in the gearbox. Hope you get it sorted

I have problems with mine now and then and i've had a clutch recently.

I think earlys suffer from notchy gears.

The only time we have had problems is when the clutch release fork was broken but not completley snapped.

Otherwise ours is perfect
