awd to 2wd switch possible?

is there any possible way to turn the awd trans into a 2wd to awd switch...kind of like in SUV's and such. I haven't ever heard of anything like it, but I was just curious. Thanks everybody

its a mechanically driven system with no means off removing the drive from an axle.......................

on what model of evo?
early evos can have a selector on the transfer to switch between 2 and 4 but are considered very rare!

well it's kind of complicated on what model evo....I'm actually in the process of fitting an evo VIII trans into an '00 eclipse. so I guess the evo VIII trans.
