Service time, Oil change

O.k. So i have been searching and reading for the past half our and this is what i have found: (not all in the same place lol!)

For a major service - or just if you want to change all the fluids.

Engine - 10w 50 Advised to use silkolene pro s..
G box - 75w 90 advised millers
Transfer box - 75w 90 advised millers
Rear diff (not rs) - 75w 90 advised millers
AYC (wich turns out to be seperate..) I have been told by a Mitsi technician to use ATF fluid.

Does this all sound o.k. to the people in the know? Thought it would turn out a good thread for people to see exactly what oils are needed!

Secdond question.. I work for bmw so we have plebty of fluids knocking about So i was planning on using -
castrol tws motorsport 10w 60
Modil vs 600 (75w 90) For all the transmission
ATF fluid (not sure of grding, if there is any?)

Can anyone see any problems with using these alternatives?

Thanks alot! Jamie

p.s. all for evo 4

Got to agree with Ben here.

As we used Silkolene for engine oil since we have had the car. We really needed some oil a few weeks back and changed to Motul 300v even when it was warm with the motul in, the lash adjusters were rattling there little heads off. So to cut along story short we changed back to silkolene pro s within a matter of a few days. It's been the most expensive service we have had since we got the car. But hey it's all down to experience.

We know other evo owners from the 1's to the 8's that use different oils and there cars are happy with what they are using.

We have millers 75 - 90 in the gearbox and transfer box.

But in the rear diff as ours is a early one we have motul mineral lsd oil.

Thanks for the replys. In the end a friend from mitsubishi got me some LSD fluid for all the transmission and i used the TWS in the engine. Evereything seems spot on except the gerbox is realy notchy when cold so i think i migt have to change to some millers stuff. (from genuine mitsi lube! LOL) :???:

Glad you got it sorted hun, we use both Millers oil and Silkolene oils in our services ......both very good quality

I wouldn't use ATF fluid in the AYC though :???:
