clutch fitting problem urgent please help

I recently bought a exedy fast road clutch to replace my paddle clutch which was slipping, when everything was unbolted we found that the new clutch wouldnt fit it's physically too small ?

I bought it off the a reputable dealer, I was told it would fit the evo 4,5 or 6 the exedy part no.

Cover plate 6a16,

Clutch is mbd070u,

Kit box is mbk2080, m310071,

Can anyone confirm weather I have the right kit to fit the evo 4.

The cover plate that came off was bigger than the other one yet the fixing holes had still been drilled out to allow it to fit? The clutch was also slightly bigger and its a 4 paddle the cover plate says exedy on it the paddle clutch does not and the part numbers are

Cover plate is exedy 5c14 h24033

the clutch has a dk emblem on it and the number is ta126

Can anybody tell me what parts I need, I am in urgent need of help, my car is in bits in my mate’s garage and I need to get the right parts as quick as possible.
I can’t understand why my flywheel is bigger and why the exedy fast road is too small?
I also need some transfer box oil does anyone know what sort I should use please help

a lot of the EXEDY 'racing' clutch kits come as a complete set including their own flywheel..................
you'll need a std flywheel to fit if this is the case

as for the transfer box - 75w90 gear oil...............

Hi Dan,
Im far from knowledgeable in this field but i offer a suggestion.. The description on the clutch from one website is as follows:

PRODUCT MODEL YEAR
EVO 5 & 6

Description
Standard EVO 6 Clutch kit, fits models NOT fitted with the triple plate clutch.
OE Spec at a not so OE price.
No Warranty on new clutches fitted to old flywheels.

Notes 1
This kit will also fit an EVO 4 giving more clamping force than the standard EVO 4 clutch kit.

-----------------------------

so it should fit a standard 4 unless the previous clutch you have in there is from an Evo 7/8 which has a bigger flywheel (240mm instead of the E4 230mm).

If this is the case then you would need to revert back to the E4 flywheel or exchange the clutch for an E7/8 one.

hope this helps mate.Just incase im wrong dont do anything untill you get some more replies ops:

Is it pull or push on yours as the botch for e4 is to fit an early clutch assembly and turn it into push?
e4/5/6 are the same e7/8/9 will fit so long as you use the flywheel as well, you have a dowel on the end of the crank to locate(which can be cut off)thats the only difference

thanks guys i got hold of a evo 7 clutch and i had a word with the previous owner it seems he had all the bits sent over from newzealand and he thinks its a evo 7 clutch i have also measured the clutch that came off its 274 mm between bolt holes compared to the one which was sent out which is 254mm, when i rang the dealer 274mm seemed to match the 7 coverplate so ni had one should be attempting fitmentr today, @ petbeemer so basicly my clutch would have to had been changed to a push type instead of pull to work the 7 flywheel?

No m8 from e4 onwards they are all pull types, however because the e4 crankwalks the 'botch' is to put the early clutch in and reverse the operation, when driving it will then give no sign of c/w.
E7 flywheels can be bolted upto the e4 also, the driven plate is about 10mm bigger in diameter to e4

well i did have a e7 flywheel but the latest update in the clutch saga is that it wasnt even the clutch  that was gone it seems it was the slave cylinder as since changing the clutch there is no pressure in the pedal and it doesent seem to be going across far enough to disengage the clutch :???: if the clutch is bleed a bit of pressure comes back but after checking the fluid it seems to be losing a bit so i am having the slave cylinder changed sunday hopefully this will cure it although taking it all off wasnt a complete waste of as the geezer down the engineering place said my flywheel was buckled and he had to skim a fair bit off to get it right, sp i suppose just changing the cylinder wouldnt have cured it anyway.

the car is still not fixed it seems after skimming the flywheel down after it was buckled too much has been taken off because now when ou press the clutch it doesent change gear and you can hear somthing catching i've been told it could be the flywheel bolts is it normal to have these skimmed with the flywheel or is it down to my flywheel been skimmed too much.
