Timing belt adjustment pulley, what is wrong?
Simple one I hope, just changed the timing belt on my evo 1 and according to the instructions there are 2 holes in the belt adjustment pulley( next to the idler pulley ) which are supposed to be lined up vertically.
The problem is it wont turn enough to go vertically ,it stops at about 45 degrees and appears to be stopped by the water pump hitting the rim at the back of the adjuster pulley. Is it the wrong pulley or is it just a case of thats near enough. Any advice appreciated. |

if its the pulley im thinking it is m8 they dont line up at all they are there to adjust the belt tension before you put the automatic tensioner on.the pulley is eccentric (offset centre) as you turn the pulley it tightens agaist the belt.hth.
