Paranoid my evo 2 is detting

noticed it a few times at higher revs can hear a metallic kinda noise. As though something is vibrating, metal on metal.

cars running superb but i darent really floor it much because of this noise, could be something daft like a heatsheild but I have a feeling its det.

Only running 1 bar of boost at the moment with uprated pump and injectors. 2.5 inch downpipe, decat and exhaust, HKS filter.

If you are unsure Paul, turn the boost down

Also, what fuel are you burning?? I used to get horrible problems with previous cars on anything other than Optimax

Hi. Are you using a regular ECU or is it upgraded? What is the maximum boost one can run without causing problems?

as has been said keep the boost down and find a good octane booster like nitrous formula to give an extra bit of protection.is it just the one tank of fuel or has it been doing it for two or three fillups.mine hates ultimate and mypfc commander tells me when i've got a bad batch of fuel.the nf makes all the difference

turned boost right down. noticed the noise before but i dotn drive it much. just seemed worse yesterday so got worried. Am running a stock ecu at the mo with evo 7 injectors and fuel pump so should be overfuelling at the mo. will be fitting one of petes stage 2 chips soon though and i guess i ought to port the wastegate.
