Rusty exhaust manifold bolts

Hi, jus after some advice i have recently bought a new 4 branch manifold for my evo vii problem is that the bolts are totally rusted i have tried soaking them in wd and penatrating oil with no effect just wondering if anyone else has had this problem also and what would be the best solution. I have been to a garage but the problem is they have said they can try and get it off but if they cant then they would have to take the head off to get the bolts out which isnt gonna be cheap. Any advice would be much appreciated

I past experience I would leave to the garage, if the bolts are that rusted you run the risk of snapping one of the threads in the head and then you would have to got them re-tapped :???:

It's just one of those jobs I would leave for someone else

I have this problem all the time, head studs are a weak spot as there so small for the job, what i usualy do is un-do them while the motor is fully warm, thus alloy expands quicker than steel etc etc if you do snap one getting them off, then it is possible to run a 4mm drill into them and reverse tap them out,as the tap gets tighter the more you try to un-do it,if you are unsure though about doing it them take a large gulp and stick it in the garage

When you change a manifold you are best to change the complete set of studs and nuts too
