Balancer Shaft

Car in the garage for new timing belt etc.

Comes out and when the engine revs start to increase, a vibration is felt through the car, but nothing was there before the belt change.

Does this sound like the balancer shaft being out of position?

Off to pick up car tomorrow to see if they have fixed it. Have used the garage several times with no probs before but would appear to have new mechanic...

Have read on previous posts that the balancer shaft setup can be screwed up quite easily.....

yup, they have the balancer wrong for sure. it will look like its timed right but i guarantee its wrong.

they need to remove the timing belt, turn the bottom right hand sprocket by 360 degrees then refit timing belt.

the front balancer is driven by this oil pump sprocket on a 2:1 ratio.

Got car back, apparently they've re-done the belt change again and confirmed its setup and positive that its right but the vibration is still there...

Not a heavy vibration as such, but can feel it through the pedals when your driving.

Can this do any damage when driven or is it just an inconvienence?

Coming down to Whitby run this weekend or is it not recommended??

Went for a spin today, start to feel vibration via the peddles around 2500/3000 rpm upwards, nothing else apparent. Bit noiser but put that down to induction roar with new filter or possible loose airbox inlet pipe...
